The Archeons

During the Sixth Coil, it was not uncommon for pairings between members of the Temtektaggre Empire and the Great Avian Alliance.  Often these half-breed children would have looks very similar to one another.  Both scaled and feathered, as can be expected, but never showing any lean towards one dominating the other.  When the Age of Strife came, the pairings become all but nonexistent and the half-breeds became hunted.  Despite this, some survived and those who were not so obvious hid their features.  The blood continued to pass and a century ago what appeared to be half-breeds began to reappear.  Among pairings not mixed.  These were often killed, but many disappeared; saved from death by beings known as couatl.  Now they have helped you find your own home in starting the Feathered Serpent Unification.  As an Archeon you hold the blood of all the great races, though you are now your own people, and you hold the potential destiny of the Ninth Coil in your hands.

Awakened To Potential
All Archeons, including the ancient half-breeds, feel the potential within themselves to be something more as they age.  This isn’t something beyond the natural pull of people to better themselves but is different.  It is the pull of evolution and growth as a species.  The couatl helped awaken something within your people, a connection to the inner potential within the self that most don’t even realize exists.

As a result, all Archeons are born with the ability to tap into a deep ability to utilize some sort of psychic ability.  Many realize they have the ability to see or sense more, to fortify their body, or to connect to the world around them beyond the everyday.  Yours are a people of mystics, psychics, and monks.  Powerful and unassuming, you may look weak or unprepared but anyone who gets a look into your eyes probably find that it is too late to take true measure of you.

Of Two Worlds
As the Coils turn, so too does the state of the world and the status of the feathered-folk and scale-kin.  With every Coil, it seems, do they agree to work together only to turn on one another.  Once the world was united.  Some say there was but one people among the Atlazi.  Others claim there were two or perhaps many.  Regardless it took much to unite after the sundering of that empire.  Again that peace has fallen and it is only a matter of time before the Coil’s Fang, that looming and unknown threat known to occur in such ages past, rears its head.

You are born of two eras.  You are born of two peoples.  You are born of two realms.  It will take much to reconcile those two sides of you, but the couatl have awakened the power within you.  The difficulty will come in the interactions with the other peoples of the world.  Trust will come with difficulty from either side, the prejudices of all placed upon your mixed blood.

The question becomes one of possibility.  Will you be able to reunify the people of Atlazan?  Is that truly your responsibility?  You are born to the destiny of your mixed blood and awakened mind, but you have a life of your own as well.  You are born of fate and freedom, yet two more worlds pulling you in opposite directions.  Perhaps it will be enough to just live your life?
