A Couple of Changes (In Case You Hadn't Noticed)

As the title says most of what has been happening on this blog is pretty obvious, as in if you look here you see it.  This includes a little bit of tweaking on the layout, the creation of a twitter account, and the development of an actual play podcast.  I did want to go over the way the schedule has evolved for Notes of The Wandering Alchemist though.  First off, this is the second week I have taken the opportunity to use Monday to post some general news about things here.  This is something I am going to be doing every week, from now on.  For the most part this will probably just recap the previous week and give a heads up on what might be expected this week.  It may also include a new game I saw, the release of something RPG related, or it may be some news more akin to this post.

Secondly, Last Year On Earth probably won't be seen again unless some folks really want to.  We haven't played yet and when we do it will probably be 3 months and that is a lot to make a slideshow out of.  More than that though, the slideshow was to be a sort of foray into doing something on a regular basis and sharing it with you.  This very quickly turned into discussing a podcast, the development of Brave New Worlds, and the beginning of our one-shot test games.  I have simply prioritized that over Pandemic and in terms of editing time, will continue to do so especially once the Savage Worlds main campaign begins.

Now that Monday is out of the way, let's talk about the rest of the week.  That will continue as planned.  Tuesdays you will still see an article about something (usually fairly random).  This will continue to include some world building stuff, but may also include some of my home brew works-in-progress (and how they may be giving me trouble).  Thursday will always be Resources For Every DM.  This will continue to be three sets of material, themed in some way, that may be looked to for help, inspiration, or RPG-like fun.

Wednesday is something that involves a little more discussion.  As you all know, WotC released the OGL and SRD for fifth edition *hooray!*.  I have been throwing up home campaign information and have planning to release it here, for free.  Last week I had much to think about, but I have come to the conclusion that much of my work will still be able to be found here for free.  When it comes right down to it, I don't have a huge audience nor a ton of experience with other people using my stuff.  I want this blog and my home brew to help each other grow and spread.  And frankly, if people like stuff they buy good versions to have and support the creator.  Just look at the fact that all Pathfinder rules are freely available on one site (which I use) and they still produce books (some of which I buy).  These are the way of things.

I am, however, working overtime on some home brew ideas I have had.  Things that weren't going to be fleshed out mechanically until needed by a player or I had time.  My goal is to produce versions to release on RPG DriveThru and the DMs Guild.  Much of that you will see here, but it may be released and/or updated more slowly.  Those versions will also include an (obviously) better looking layout and (eventually) art.  I should also not that there will be some things on those sites for PWYW, such as 1-3 races of Atlazan individually with the rest more being some arbitrary standard low price and finally a collection of them all.  I want this stuff out there and I want critiques, so hopefully something here will catch your eye or you check out one of the PWYWs and, at the very least, I get feedback.  That all being said, watch for Wednesday this week as I will be adding some info on the different entities worshiped in Atlazan and talking about what I am working on!

Finally we get to Friday.  Every Friday evening you will be able to find the newest episode of Brave New Worlds, embedded here.  You can also check it out and follow it on SoundCloud.  Soon I will have the RSS feed in other sources so more of you can listen to it from the site or device of your choice.  Last week was our premiere so please check it out, and expect the main campaign Brave New Worlds: a Savage Worlds trek across the multiverse, to begin this February!

Thank you to everyone who has been reading this blog and to those who took the time to read this post.  Please, if you have liked anything add me to your Google circles, like us on Facebook, follow us on twitter, and share us with friends.  If you want to see more and more, you can donate to our Patreon or bookmark it for checking out once I rewrite it later this week!
